If you’ve recently purchased a UTV, you’re likely eager to take your new machine for a ride. However, before you take your vehicle for a spin, you’ll need to double-check that you have everything required for a safe trip. For a list of helpful safety equipment you’ll need for your UTV, you’ll want to read through our article below.

Seatbelts and Roll Cages

Despite being two very different pieces of equipment, seatbelts and roll cages largely perform the same purpose: keeping you safe in your vehicle during a crash. However, if you want to protect yourself from bodily harm during an accident, we strongly advise purchasing both of these important accessories. While a roll cage will keep you from falling out of your UTV during a collision, it’ll do little to keep you from banging into the sides of the cage or the dash as you crash. Seatbelts on the other hand will keep you firmly in your seat, reducing the likelihood of broken bones or head injuries.

Emergency Kits and First Aid Kits

It’s always important to be prepared in case a serious emergency arrives. Because you’ll likely be driving your UTV in an area that’s difficult for first responders to reach, it’s wise to have a fully stocked first aid kit stashed away in your vehicle in case you or one of your passengers is injured. We also encourage you to have a small emergency kit on hand as well. This should include a small GPS, a multi-use pocket knife, and a radio, as well as a few basic tools to help temporarily repair your vehicle in case of a breakdown.
